Regular VA Watchdog dot Org
readers will know that the VA, and specifically the Veterans'
Benefits Administration (VBA), is out looking for ideas from
employees on how the clear up the backlog of nearly one million
claims.

The two latest articles on this
endeavor are here ...

Also, local VA Regional Offices
(VAROs) ask employees for input into getting the work done.
The following is from a VARO
employee who is obviously frustrated because his colleagues keep
submitting useless ideas.
The employee and the VARO will
remain unidentified.
This is just one VARO.
Remember, there are 57 in all.
VARO employee's email:
"...the ideas ... just
amaze me."
"The number one idea
so far is [the] concept that we give training to the veterans on
how to file a claim."
It's not a good "idea
because it puts the blame on the veteran for our backlog rather
than on ourselves."
"And it won't do any
good because veterans aren't going to drive [XXX] miles to come
to [XXX VARO] and attend a class that can't possibly tell them
everything they need to know."
"The other ideas all center
around ending production quotas or getting rewarded for
exceeding production with time off or money."
"In other words, no
one wants to do any [expletive deleted] work ... they just want
to whine."
