Man Admits Selling Crack to Hospital Co-Workers

Syracuse (WSYR-TV)

 

A Syracuse man admitted in federal court Wednesday he sold crack to his co-workers at the VA Hospital for more than three years.

Darrell Mosely Sr., 63, told the district court he’s guilty.

Last May, FBI agents seized 22 baggies of crack cocaine from a fanny-pack Mosely was wearing, along with more than $2,000 in cash.

Mosely, who worked in the laundry area of the hospital for more than 15 years, said his drug dealing began as a favor to friends.

In May, prosecutors said Mosely allowed hospital employees to use their canteen cards, or hospital debit cards, to pay for drugs they could not afford.

The U.S. Attorney’s office found drug ledgers, drug scales, and loaded guns that were unregistered in his Glenwood Avenue home.

Mosely is facing up to 40 years in federal prison when he is sentenced in the spring.
