APPROVES PEAKE FOR VA SECRETARY -- Nomination

now goes to full Senate for consideration.

The Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs has unanimously approved Dr. James Peake to be VA Secretary.

Unanimous means just that...there were no dissenting votes.

Peake's nomination now goes to the full Senate for the confirmation vote.

That vote could occur before the Christmas recess.

No opposition is expected.
